Ebook About
Ancient gods. Modern war. And a star-crossed couple who could use some divine intervention. The day I was drafted into the army of the gods, all I knew about being a MASH surgeon was what I’d learned from Hawkeye Pierce and Hot Lips Houlihan. Now here I am, Dr. Petra Robichaud, in the middle of an immortal war, assigned to a MASH camp with a nosy sphinx, a vegetarian werewolf, and an uptight vampire who really needs to get a life.At least they’re all too busy with their own dramas to discover my secret: I can see the dead. It’s a forbidden gift, one that can get me killed, so I haven’t told a soul.Until the arrestingly intense Galen arrives on my operating table, half-dead and totally to-die-for. When his spirit tries to slip out of his fatally wounded body, I impulsively slip it back in. Call it a rash resurrection. One I’ll live to regret. Now Commander Galen of Delphi knows my secret, and he’s convinced I’m part of an ancient prophecy—one that can end the war for good. But taking a chance could cost me everything. And it would be easier to convince him to leave me alone, except now the prophecies are starting to come true…Warning: This novel contains a hefty dose of danger, drama, practical jokes, pet swamp lizards, brooding demigods, adventure, romance, and heart—in a MASH camp where everybody knows your business. What Reviewers are saying…5 Stars! “Yet another Angie Fox book that is impossible to put down.”5 Stars! “This was a cross between MASH and a grown up, sexy version of a Percy Jackson novel—lots of fun and a highly recommended read!”5 Stars! “Can I give it 10 stars? This reminded me of the MASH TV shows that I watched growing up, only better.”5 Stars! “Read this one fast only if you can afford the rest of the series, because you ARE going to want to read on.”5 Stars! “Angie's humor is perfectly on par with MaryJanice Davidson's Undead Series, so if you have enjoyed those then you will love this.”*The core of this book was originally called Immortally Yours, published by St. Martin's Press in 2012. The author has rewritten it into the way she always envisioned the story to be, which means it is now a romantic comedy instead of an angsty book. Oh, and there are a lot more pet swamp lizards, too.

Book The Monster MASH: A dead funny romantic comedy (The Monster MASH Trilogy Book 1) Review :

Title: The Monster MASHSeries: The Monster MASH TrilogyAuthor: Angie FoxDesignation: Book 1 of 3, Full-Length, Not Recommended As A Stand-alone, Happy For Now #urbanfantasy #supernaturalsuspense #mythology #romanticcomedyMy Rating: Five Delightful Stars 🌟 🌟 🌟 🌟 🌟I loved, loved, loved The Monster MASH by Angie Fox! I’ve been a fan of Fox's work for years and was beyond thrilled when she announced plans to republish The Monster MASH series with some major revisions. This book, which is the first in the trilogy, was originally published as Immortally Yours in 2012. I actually own all three of the original ebooks and read them years ago. I enjoyed them immensely but always felt like something important was missing from the story, though I could never pinpoint what or why. Don’t get me wrong; the entire original series was very good. Obviously, other people agreed. The original release of the first book was a RITA Award finalist for 2013 in the paranormal romance category. Without a doubt, Fox is an exceptional storyteller and talented wordsmith. I’ve always found her work to be unique, clever, and entertaining, but her Monster MASH series is one of the most imaginative concepts I’ve ever read. Fox’s courageous reboot of this trilogy with quite a few major revisions took a gemstone-in-the-rough manuscript and elevated it to a brilliant, shiny diamond. One of the major changes was the elimination of the explicit love scenes and a downplay of the angsty vibes, changing the entire focus of the story and giving it a more upbeat, comedic feel. It still has romantic elements but the reader is no longer distracted by the sex scenes, allowing us the concentrate on the core of the story, which is the plot, conflict, and the entire cast of characters, their lives, interactions, and relationship to each other. There are still romantic elements but the romance itself is no longer the main driving force of the book, though the relationship between the heroine, Dr Petra Robichaud, and the hero, Galen of Delphoi, is an extremely important component of the first book. Fox also expanded the sense of community by adding information and dialogue to elevate the importance of the secondary and tertiary characters. And I LOVED it! One of the things I enjoy most about Fox’s work is her ability to create a magnificent cast of relatable and endearing characters, giving her worlds a small town/community atmosphere, even in a MASH unit. For anyone unfamiliar with the term, it means Mobile Army Surgical Hospital. And if you just thought like the 70s television series with Hawkeye Pierce, Hot Lips Houlihan, and Corporal Klinger, you would be correct. Fox definitely received inspiration from the show and its cast. Our very reluctant heroine, Dr Petra Robichaud, was the perfect embodiment of the always irreverent Hawkeye Pierce. I fell in love with Petra! She was smart, strong, stubborn, and not easily convinced of her destiny. Actually, she was dragged into the role of heroine, literally kicking and screaming the entire way. And our intense hero, handsome demigod and elite special forces soldier Captain Galen of Delphi, was just the opposite. He was all too eager to fall on his sword and sacrifice his life for the cause of the New God Army - or at least he was until he met Dr Petra Robichaud. The attraction between these two was immediate but it takes a lot more than a near-death experience to win Petra’s trust, and a heck of a lot more to win her love. But with faith in each other, these two may be able to save the world!Half fae, half-human Petra Robichaud was happy with life at her clinic in New Orleans. She was one of only a few paranormal doctors in the area and the only paranormal thoracic surgeon. Unfortunately, she caught the wrong kind of attention and was drafted into the New God Army. Even worse, her involuntary conscription would probably last for the rest of her life. The old gods and the new gods had already been fighting for hundreds of years, with no cease-fire in sight. Petra’s seven years of service at MASH 3063rd located on the plains of Limbo already seemed like a lifetime. It was the same routine, day in and day out, the daily surgeries and treatment on wounded and dying soldiers, all casualties of a senseless, never-ending war. Until one dying warrior changed everything. When the handsome Captain Galen of Delphi died on Petra’s table, she made an extremely rash and impulsive decision. She saved his life by yanking his soul back into his body. Yup, you read that correctly. Dr Robichaud was half-fae and possessed a secret but very powerful gift. She could see and communicate with the dead and her special ability was a big no-no with the gods. If they found out, she would be as good as dead. Galen had been in critical condition and she’d hoped he wouldn’t remember. But he did remember and now he’s convinced that Petra is part of an ancient prophecy to end the war. Too bad Petra doesn’t have any faith in Galen or the prophecy and with good reason. Well, I guess it’s fortunate then that Galen refuses to give up on the lovely doctor who has stolen his heart. Petra has already lost enough and she’ll fight fate to the bitter end! Let the battle begin!Did I like this book? No, I LOVED it! This book had everything I enjoy in a story. It’s filled to the brim with action, adventure, suspense, mystery, angst, romance, humor, romance, wonderful characters, shenanigans, and hijinks galore. And a whole lot of baby swamp creatures! Lol... You’ll just have to read the book! Would I recommend it! You bet and I am, but maybe only for ages 16 and above. There are a few curse words. Will I read this author again? Absolutely! Just as soon as she releases the next book in this trilogy, which is only a few weeks away! And finally, was I entertained? Completely! Fabulous entertainment and an awesome read!
This book was like nothing else I have ever read. Following a human surgeon serving in a war between the old Gods and the new Gods, she accidentally becomes the only person who can stop the war. The storyline keeps you totally engrossed and the characters are very well written. You totally care about how these characters are going to survive in the middle of this war zone, although many of them are not human. It feels as if this could be a MASH unit anywhere in the world during any war. The friendships and other relationships between the characters seem very real! It is going to be difficult to wait almost a year to find out what happens next.
